Q: Do you have a studio?
A: Nope. I work “on location” meaning at your home, in your backyard, at your favorite park or beach. I can always recommend a location too.
Q: Where are you located?
A: I live in Southern Westchester but cover all of Westchester, parts of Connecticut, NYC, Long Island and even the Berkshires.
Q: What comes with my photo shoot?
A: Packages include all the digital images from your gallery as well as several professional prints. I also advertise seasonal promotions several times a year.
Q: I see the cards on your website. How does that work?
A: I have professional relationships with TINY PRINTS and MINTED. I design cards with them using your favorite photos from your shoot. You pay a design fee, fill out a questionnaire and I email you proofs until you love your card. I then order the cards for you, check that they are perfect, and deliver them to your door. I can even have them addressed for you. Prices for the cards are as seen on the Tiny Prints and Minted websites; you pay me only the design fee. In addition to holiday cards, I design birth announcements, invitations, thank-you cards and other types of personal stationery.
Q: What should we wear to the shoot?
A: Great question! I love color, especially on kids. Try to stay away from white tops as they can wash a lot of people out. If you have little girls who like twirly skirts and dresses, those look fantastic in pictures. Generally, family members should be coordinated but not matching (unless you really want everyone in the same outfit). So think about your daughter in that fun red dress with the blue belt and then your son in a blue and white checked shirt and jeans, etc. Check out my Pinterest page for ideas on what to wear:
Q: Any other tips for a great shoot?
A: I send all my clients a tip sheet but here goes: feed your kids right before the shoot but then no food on “set.” Ever try to edit out goldfish stuck in an adorable gummy smile? Yuck. And I am not opposed to bribes (big or small—you know your kids!) but we usually have so much fun that they are not necessary.
